Miguel Luque joined Stevenage Borough in the 1989/90 season as a midfielder and established himself as a key figure in the team that romped the Ryman League Division 2 North title that season.

Having reverted to centre-back for the next season in Division 1 of the Ryman League, Luque's presence was no less critical as Boro' secured the title alongside the Herts Senior Cup.

Despite leaving in the 1992/3 season, Luque returned for the 1993/4 campaign which saw Boro' gain promotion to the Vauxhall Conference although did spend a brief spell at Bishop's Stortford on loan.

Luque took control of the reserve team in 1994/5 and as the first team won the Conference title the following season, Luque's guidance saw the reserve team win their league and league cup before ending his involvement with the club at the end of that season.
