Stevenage manager Graham Westley swooped to sign Hull City midfielder Conor Henderson on loan in March 2014, the same day as defender Tom Flanagan arrived from MK Dons on a similar arrangement. Both signatures boosted the Boro' squad at a time when a battle for League One survival was raging.

Henderson originally started his career at Arsenal and arguably made his presence known during the Gunners' 2008-9 FA Youth Cup, 2008-9 Premier Academy League and 2009-10 Premier Academy League triumphs. However, opportunities at the Emirates were understandably restricted for the midfielder.

A brief loan spell at Coventry City was all the first team experience Henderson gained during his time at Arsenal, and he was released in 2013. Fortunately for the youngster, Hull City were on hand to give him a fresh start after he impressed boss Steve Bruce in two reserve outings.

He made his Hull City debut in late 2013 and also has international caps to his name, having made three appearances for England U17s. But he switched his allegiance to Republic of Ireland at U19 level and went onto also represent the Irish at U21 level too.
