A former Norwich City youngster, forward Adam Marriott was snapped up by manager Graham Westley in summer 2014 after taking the Southern League by storm in 2013-4 with more than 40 goals scored for Cambridge City.

The striker's keen eye for goal and prolific record helped propel City into the Premier Division playoffs, and it was little surprise that a League club was interested - thankfully, that turned out to be Stevenage and he was promptly signed.

The 2014-5 season gave Marriott a chance to cut his teeth in the League for the first time and make a name for himself at a higher level. And no doubt giving Boro' fans at the time cause to hope they'd unearthed the next Steve Morison or Barry Hayles.

Injuries wreaked havoc with the striker's time at the Lamex, however. It often kept Marriott out for large spells at a time, which was a source of immense frustration - not least for the player himself. In summer 2016, his time with Boro' was brought to an end after his contract came to an end.
