Tom Conlon was one of two Peterborough United lads drafted in by Graham Westley as his squad took shape in the early weeks of the 2014-5 campaign. At first, the move was a temporary one; the deal a loan from Posh.

Conlon did enough to impress at the Lamex, however. In January 2015, the move went from temporary to permanent. And, with it, came a chance to show that he was ready for regular League football.

After spending nine years as part of Stoke City's youth setup, the midfielder moved on to another local club: Newcastle Town. His stay there wasn't a long one, though. The scouts from Peterborough caught sight of him, and he moved to London Road after a short trial with the club.

In his time at Boro', the promise was there for all to see. Yet, opportunity didn't knock as much as it perhaps ought to have. Conlon was more used to making appearances from the bench under more than one gaffer. Indeed, he ended up going out on loan during the 2017-8 campaign for first team action.

Even then, it didn't really pan out for the player; his deal at Billericay Town coming to an end after a single game. Injuries hadn't helped his cause at Boro', but his time here was brought to an end in summer 2018 by Dino Maamria. That summer, he moved back to his native Stoke and secured a deal with Port Vale.
