Callum McFadzean was drafted in on loan by Stevenage manager Teddy Sheringham in November 2015, with the left-sided midfield man brought to the Lamex on a one-month deal from Sheffield United.

Born in Sheffield and an England U16 international, McFadzean - the brother of then-MK Dons defender Kyle - came through the youth ranks at Bramall Lane but had only made a handful of appearances.

Prior to his arrival at Boro', most of his first team experience came from loan spells at Chesterfield and Burton Albion (twice). That said, it was during these temporary shifts elsewhere that got him noticed.

With Boro' thought to be lacking width and most notably so on the left during the first half of the 2015-6 season, McFadzean's arrival was seen as the gaffer's bid to address that ahead of a busy festive period.
