Andrew Fox was the second signing made by Stevenage manager Darren Sarll in summer 2016. Fox agreed terms with Boro' after being released by his former club, Peterborough United, at the conclusion of the 2015-6 League One campaign and the expiry of his one-year deal at London Road.

Fox was unveiled as a Posh player in July 2015, with his signature bringing him back from the US where he had played university soccer. An attacking full-back by trade, he moved to the States in 2011, plying his trade for St Edward's University on a scholarship. Midland/Odessa Sockers also made use of his services.

In August 2015, Fox was loaned out to Kidderminster Harriers too. He featured in six games during his one-month stint, before returning to London Road. But he failed to make the desired impact as the club struggled to challenge for promotion.

The decision to sign Andrew Fox made perfect sense from a Boro' point of view. Towards the end of the 2015-6 campaign, Fraser Franks was used in a full-back role despite being a centre-back by trade. And the departure of Jerome Okimo that summer only increased the need for an out-and-out full-back to come in.

You had to work hard to see Fox in action during his time at Boro', however. Injuries and the form of both Kgosi Ntlhe and loanee Connor Ogilvie kept Fox's appearance tally down to a mere 14. As Sarll sought to build on the foundations his side had laid in the 2016-7 campaign, Fox was among those who were released at the end of the season.
