Not since the 2012 departure of Scott Laird did you feel that Stevenage had a reliable left-back option. A number of options had been tried, with varying degrees of success. But it was a position that never quite seemed to be sorted. One player hoping to end that was South African defender, Kgosi Ntlhe.

The Pretoria-born full back was drafted in by Boro' gaffer Darren Sarll towards the end of the August 2016 transfer window. He came to the club with a reputation for being an attacking player with strong ability in the air. And with those attributes, a hope that he could make the Boro' left back position his own.

Ntlhe came to the club from Peterborough United, where he had been for five years as a senior player and a further two seasons as a youth player. While at the Posh, he made around 80 appearances and chipped in with five goals. His time at London Road was also interspersed with a loan spell at St Albans City.

The left back has also represented his country at U20 and senior level, though his one and only senior cap at the time of his arrival at the Lamex came way back in 2013.
