A forward with no shortage of Football League experience under his belt, Josh McQuoid became a Stevenage player in January 2017. He joined Boro' on loan from near neighbours Luton Town, filling a gap left by Tyler Walker another loanee who had been recalled by parent club Nottingham Forest.

McQuoid either a striker or winger if you believe Wikipedia began his career at hometown club Southampton as a youth, but soon made the switch to Bournemouth. It was at Dean Court where he first made his name, with the Cherries at that time a way off the Premier League side they'd become.

After a loan spell at Millwall in 2010, the forward made things permanent with the Lions in January 2011. A year later, however, and he was off to Turf Moor and Burnley for a loan spell. Things at Millwall didn't pan out as hoped and, in the end, McQuoid took the chance to rejoin Bournemouth in 2012.

He'd spend another three years with the south coast club, but there were loan spells during that time too. Peterborough United came first, in February 2014, then Coventry City in August that year. It's reported that, while the Sky Blues were keen to extend in January 2015, McQuoid ended up going back to Bournemouth.

In June 2015, the forward signed on at Luton Town. First team chances, in the 2016-7 campaign at least, came at premium. With limited opportunities, Boro' gave him a route to first team football. With Darren Sarll's club aiming to boost their attacking prowess, McQuoid was seen as the missing part of the puzzle.
