Moses Makasi

Date of Birth: 22-09-1995

Place of Birth:

Boro’s first move into the January 2019 transfer window saw Moses Makasi come in on loan; the dynamic midfielder arriving from West Ham United until the end of the 2018-9 season. Dino Maamria was certainly happy with his acquisition: “Moses is a good footballer and I am really pleased we have been able to get this one over the line,” said the gaffer.

Makasi came to us at the age of 23-year-old and the captain of the Hammers’ U23 side. After starting his career in East London, Chelmsford City and Plymouth Argyle gave him a taste of first team experience; the latter being the club at which he scored his first senior goal too.

Boro’ fans were no doubt hoping for more of the same (and a little bit more) in his time with us. And the midfielder made a good few appearances during his time at the club. It never really felt as if we got to see his full potential. Towards the end of the campaign and us fighting for the playoffs, Makasi was nowhere to be seen; the gaffer preferring to stick with his own charges in the home straight.

Moses Makasi: After Boro’

It didn’t seem as if the Hammers had much use for the midfielder after returning from us either. He left the Premier League club at the end of the season on a free; his next port of call coming across the sea in the Netherlands with FC Eindhoven. Time would tell if he’d prove the Hammers wrong in their call to release him.
